Writing and babies

I'M behind in posting again. I know, I know. ITS been a busy week.
DID YOU KNOW Anika turned ONE this past week? SHE DID! I will post more about that later.

BUT for now, Andrew got her this little cheap toy...my mom said it was too old for her....

And, NO- NOT my Baby. My parents gave Anika an American Girl Bitty Baby...it was a big hit. She LOVES her baby. She puts it in the baby swing and then puts a blanket on it and says Nigh nigh. I wonder where she learned to be so maternal! NOT from me! lol.

ME!

For my newer readers: I got married in May, 2007 (I had just turned 24). My husband, Andrew, is from New Zealand, and I have spent lots of time in his country. After living in Boston for 6 years (college and working), my husband convinced me to move to NH (near where I grew up). I moved with a bit of kicking and screaming and miss the City EVERY SINGLE DAY! What you do for Love! :))) We moved to NH right after we got married. Andrew pointed out that he moved from the Other Side of the World for me, and he only asked me to move 2 hours North!) He wins! :) We bought a house and rescued our first dog (Piri, pronounced Purr-E) in May 09, which prompted me to start this blog!! Piri means to stay close and near/clingy in NZ’s native language.

I have yet to get "INTO" the house decorating, but I am TRYING SO Very HARD!

We welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Anika, on March 23rd, 2011. She was 2 full weeks past her due date, and I had the birth I wanted-drug free. It was a beautiful experience (yes, it hurt), but it empowered me. I think Anika’s birth contributed to my confidence as a new mother. From that day, I have stepped into my role as “mom” much easier than I ever imagined I would. She has been such a happy baby and such a joy, which makes me wonder what will happen on #2….

I do like my cocktails, but they have taken a back seat during pregnancy and nursing, however, I do find ways to squeeze them in (Safely). I think that I parent pretty “naturally” which may surprise many people who have known me a long time. Any questions? Please ask!
