11 Things!

My friend Meagan tagged me in a little game a couple weeks ago.
I didn't forget!
She answered 11 Questions and asked me the same:
  2. How would you describe your style?
Since I am not at my happy weight, I just kind of wear what fits and I haven’t spent a lot of money on clothes in many years. I still have a lot of my old clothes and one day they WILL fit. I live in dresses in the summer. I love them. I used to have a lot more fun with dressing up. I really went ALL out in High school and always wanted to be different. I loved accessories and changed my jewelry DAILY.  I still have a lot of jewelry and accessories but dont put in nearly as much effort on a daily basis like I used to. I bet if I still worked in a big firm with lots of people, I would put more effort in.
  3. What one make-up product can you not live without? Mascara and tinted moisturizer. Oops. That is two.
I LOVE estee lauder no smudge mascara and Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.
  4. If you could be besties with one celebrity, who would it be?
Channing Tatum. Hahah. What? Besties with benefits.

  5. What is your dream vacation?
Right now we are trying to get back to New Zealand. Plane tickets are just SOO damn expensive. WE NEED to get back before Anika turns two…while she is free to fly, so Keep your fingers crossed everything works out for us to go before March! Once that trip is planned, I will be pregnant. Hahah- that is the plan. I would love to stop by Fiji again since it’s so close..or Bora Bora since it’s on the way!  I mean, those are both Great layovers, no?

6. What magazines do you subscribe to? I get Food Network still..even though I don’t subscribe to it. My mom used to get it for me as a gift.  I also get a Cooking Light Magazine my mom gets me. Parent magazine comes to my house- I never subscribed. And Kiwi Magazine- it’s a natural parenting magazine (supposedly). I WOULD Get Mothering magazine, but it is out of print now. Boo.

  7. If you could have any special talent {that you don't currently have}, what would it be? I want to be able to sew!! My mom is great at sewing and she sews for me all the time, but I want to do it myself. Or some other talent that would be useful.

8. What is your favorite breakfast food? Poached eggs- Runny. Actually veggie or salmon eggs benedict! I used to hate eggs so its crazy how I love them now.

9. If you could do anything, what is your dream job? To be a midwife! Too late for me. I didn’t take any hard science courses in school. I don’t want the liability either, but I would love to help people have natural healthy pregnancies and labors...and then teach them how to parent naturally! I would love to help people who WANTED to learn.  Another dream job would be to get paid to be a SAHM  :) haha.  But, we wouldn't just stay home- I get cabin fever. We would need money to go do TONS Of fun things and be out and about all the time. I also would like to be an organizer. I like to organize. I also want to work for myself. haha.

  10. What is your guilty pleasure? Trashy tv and trashy food! Haha. Oh, and Vodka. Duh.

  11. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received, and who gave it to you? Be happy with what you have! Don’t know WHO told me, but I really try to be grateful for what I have and not think about what I don’t have. I know we live a pretty blessed life so I try not to take that for granted. I have a healthy family and that is something to be happy about! Also, Good advice was to just follow my gut when it comes to being a mom…that has worked well for me.

And, a few photos from the 4th..
At a party a few weeks ago,  she loved the Tractor power wheel, but she couldn't reach the foot pedal to make it go. This Thomas the train had a button on the handle she pushed to make it go. I am looking for a used one now...doesn't have to be Thomas, but some ride on toy :)

Haning on the raft with Momma.

  4. I'm going to need your tips for a natural delivery, I think I'm going to go drug free next time. I labored on my own to 7cm and with my fast labors I thnk I can do the rest on my own. How does the pain of the head coming out compare to the contractions?

  5. Glad you did this! I can't even remember what my answers were! Love A's cute 4th outfits! We have some friends that are Kiwis and they told us how exspensive flights are. So I totally get wanting to go when A is free! And a stop in bora bora or fiji? Yes Please!

  6. I don't think it's too late to become a midwife! My midwife didn't start until she was in her 30s and now she's delivered THOUSANDS of babies. If you really don't want the liability (and I don' blame you) you could totally be a doula! My doula works with the midwife and does a lot of what she does - prenatals, classes, post-natal visits, labor coaching, etc. I bet you'd be fantastic!
